Nurse Clinician (RN) - Acute Care Pediatrics Apply Location: Richmond, VA Children's Hospital of Richmond Type: Full time Posted: 6 Days Ago Requisition ID: R38048 About the Unit ACUTE CARE PEDIATRICS 12 is a 24-bed pediatric unit caring for patients from various medical specialties including nephrology, neurology, cardiology, pulmonology, gastrology, and endocrinology. It also handles surgical cases such as trauma, plastics, and general surgery. The unit includes general care and step-down patients, with specific populations like hematology/oncology, epilepsy monitoring, and bone marrow transplant. Some patients are monitored via telemetry. Role Summary The Nurse Clinician demonstrates expertise in assessing, diagnosing, and treating complex patients. They assist in illness prevention, wellness maintenance, and patient comfort. They provide leadership, education, and program development within their area, promoting quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The role involves staff development and resource management to achieve positive outcomes. Qualifications Licensure: Current RN license in Virginia or eligible/compact state Certification: AHA BLS HCP or equivalent Experience: Minimum 5 years nursing experience, with at least 1 year in the specific patient population or setting Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing; enrolled in a Master's program at application, to be completed within 36 months. Preference for those with a Master's in Nursing or related field.
