Senior Data Analyst

Job Description

Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst / BI Engineer who can go beyond basic reporting and act as a true partner to the business. This person should be technically strong enough to evaluate existing projects, identify opportunities for improvement, and help guide more junior team members through reviews, project work, and day-to-day changes.

This role will focus on turning business questions into actionable data insights by pulling from multiple data sources, building and maintaining dashboards, and working closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong SQL and cloud experience, a solid understanding of reporting and visualization tools, and curiosity around data science and emerging technologies such as Agentic AI.

Key Responsibilities:

Write SQL queries to support reporting, ad hoc analysis, and business intelligence needs.

Pull and combine data from multiple sources, primarily within GCP / BigQuery environments.

Build, enhance, and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI and other visualization tools as needed.

Partner with stakeholders across teams to understand business needs and translate them into meaningful reporting solutions.

Evaluate current reporting and analytics projects and recommend improvements in design, structure, and usability.

Support and mentor junior team members through code reviews, project guidance, and best practices.

Help the team adapt in a fast-changing environment with shifting priorities and evolving initiatives.

The annual salary for this role is between $100,000-120,000/yr.

Skills and Requirements

Strong SQL - experience pulling and combining data from multiple sources for reporting and ad hoc analysis.

Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms, ideally GCP and BigQuery.

Experience building and maintaining dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.

Ability to translate a business question into a data-driven solution and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to gather requirements.

Strong technical judgment, problem-solving ability, and willingness to lead initiatives, mentor junior team members, and improve team processes. Exposure to or strong interest in Data Science.

Experience supporting teams integrating Agentic AI or other AI-driven capabilities.

Familiarity with ETL concepts, even if the role is not focused on full pipeline ownership.

Experience working with both cloud and some on-prem SQL environments.
