Position Overview: The Deicer plays a critical role in maintaining safe aircraft operations during winter weather conditions. This position is responsible for inspecting aircraft for frozen contamination, performing de/anti-icing procedures using glycol-based fluids, and ensuring all deicing activities are completed safely and in accordance with airline, IDS, and regulatory requirements. Location: IAD - 44701 Propeller Ct, Loudoun Valley Estates, VA Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to): Perform aircraft de/anti-icing operations in accordance with airline, IDS, and safety procedures. Inspect aircraft before and after deicing to identify and confirm removal of frozen contamination. Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all company policies and operational procedures. Participate in pre-event planning activities, including equipment inspections and operational readiness checks. Service and prepare deicing equipment, including fueling vehicles and replenishing glycol supplies as required. Complete required operational paperwork, records, and logbook documentation accurately and on time. Report maintenance concerns promptly and ensure all equipment issues are documented and communicated to maintenance personnel. Follow all equipment shutdown and pad closure procedures at the conclusion of operations. Required Skills and Experience: Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Valid driver’s license required. Intermediate computer skills. Ability to read, write, understand, and follow instructions in English. Ability to communicate clearly and provide verbal direction in English. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately. Successful completion of all IDS classroom and on-the-job de/anti-icing training requirements. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees and client representatives. Ability to speak and hear effectively in a safety-sensitive work environment. Additional Info: This is a part-time seasonal position. No travel is anticipated for this role. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Work is performed outdoors and may involve prolonged standing in varying weather conditions, exposure to dust, dirt, fuel, fumes, noise, heavy equipment, and moving vehicles. Must be able to squat, stoop, kneel, bend, stretch, crawl, climb ladders, and work at heights exceeding 15 feet. Must be able to use hands and arms to handle equipment, tools, and controls. Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May be exposed to loud noises, hazardous materials, and potentially dangerous machinery or equipment. Must be able to obtain and maintain all security clearances required by Transport Canada, TSA, and/or local airport authorities. Must successfully pass all required pre-employment background screenings.
