Director of Communications

Director of CommunicationsKoch Engineered Solutions (KES) is looking for an experienced Communications Director. The Communications Director is responsible for leading the communications vision and direction, providing consulting expertise across businesses, capabilities and operations, developing and executing strategic plans, as well as supervising the communications team. This role is preferably based in Wichita, Kansas. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.In this role, you will contribute to business results by partnering closely with leaders to advance understanding and connection to the vision, our Principle Based Management™ philosophy and culture, our priorities, and key initiatives. You and your team will craft and deliver strategic communications plans for internal audiences, with deliverables such as presentations, town halls, videos, and other content. You will also own the KES corporate brand, deploying it internally and externally to position KES as a trusted partner to customers and an employer of choice in the market.This position is not eligible for VISA Sponsorship.We are an in-house Marketing & Communication capability supporting all KES business units. We contribute to business outcomes through close partnership and collaboration with leadership, HR, and supervisors. We leverage the strengths, talents, and experience of our team and trusted third-party agencies to design and execute targeted marketing and communications plans.What You Will Do:Develop and lead the communications function by setting vision and priorities, establishing an operating model, and managing and developing talent to maximize potential.Establish and advance partnerships across KES business units. Engage cross-functionally to influence and shape direction for advancing company vision and culture, business initiatives, and workforce strategies.Identify strategic priorities and develop plans and roadmaps for success. Optimize for superior outcomes, considering economics, risk, and alternatives.Deliver sound strategic counsel to stakeholders, teammates and direct reports. Collaborate with humility and openness to improve work product and results.Drive operational excellence with your team. Practice division of labor principles to organize people and resources around the work.Who You Are: (Basic Qualifications)Demonstrated experience with strategic communications planning, development, and execution.Demonstrated experience leading the talent development and supervision of a team and/or capability.Experience working with executives and senior leadership and providing respectful challenge by speaking up when you see a better path, even if it means questioning leadership decisions.What Will Put You Ahead:Strong understanding of business operations, financial drivers, customer value, and how corporate communications supports strategic business priorities.Experience with manufacturing companies and/or Fortune 500 companies.Ability to quickly understand complex manufacturing and field-based services industries.Experience identifying, managing, and balancing multiple priorities.Experience in corporate branding.Experience working with TailoredMail, SharePoint, First up, and other enterprise communication tools.Experience with traditional and social media communications.For this role, we anticipate paying $135,000 - $165,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
