Registered Nurse CVICU

Schedule: Shift: Days from 06:45 to 19:15. Options for 36 or 48 hours per week. Expect every other weekend requirements.

Assignment Details: Contract lengths of 13 to 26 weeks available. Float requirements are included.

Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of Critical Care experience. No first-time travelers accepted; locals are accepted at the same rate. Must have CVICU or open-heart experience. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. Key skills include: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, ECMO, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), post-cardiac surgery care, pulmonary artery monitoring, and arterial line management.

Responsibilities: Provide care for patients in the Post Open Heart Recovery Unit. Manage patients post-operatively from the OR. Monitor vital signs and administer medications including cardiac drips. Ensure adherence to infection control and isolation precautions. Care for ventilated patients and conduct arterial blood gas interpretation.

Compliance / Notes: Orientation will occur in the first week, requiring availability for daily classes. Dress code includes navy or white scrubs or a combination of the two.
