Senior Complex Claims Specialist – Professional Liability & Specialty Severity About the Role: We're seeking an experienced Senior Complex Claims Specialist to manage high-severity Professional Liability claims while serving as a technical leader and trusted resource across the claims organization. This role is ideal for someone with strong Architects & Engineers (A&E) and/or Professional Liability claims experience who is interested in expanding their expertise across additional specialty lines over time. Location: Hybrid – 2 days in office Manhattan, NY Connecticut Chicago, IL Atlanta, GA Key Responsibilities: Handle complex, high-exposure Professional Liability claims from initial investigation through resolution, with an initial focus on Architects & Engineers (A&E) claims. Analyze coverage, direct litigation strategy, negotiate settlements, and collaborate with defense counsel, mediators, and internal stakeholders to drive favorable outcomes. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing technical guidance, mentorship, and consultation to fellow claims professionals. Develop and deliver training, participate in claim roundtables, and contribute to department-wide initiatives that enhance technical excellence and claims best practices. Support the continued growth of a collaborative severity team by handling increasingly diverse Professional Liability claims, including Allied Healthcare, Medical Professional Liability, Media, and other specialty lines. Qualifications: 6 - 7+ years of Professional Liability and/or Specialty claims handling experience, with strong exposure to complex, high-severity litigation. Experience handling Architects & Engineers (A&E) claims strongly preferred. Strong coverage analysis, litigation management, negotiation, and mediation experience. Ability to mentor others, influence technical discussions, and thrive in a collaborative, evolving environment. J.D. preferred but not required; equivalent legal or claims experience will be considered.
