Crisis Clinician

The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) is actively seeking crisis clinicians to become an integral part of a growing continuum of behavioral health care services. This posting is for the new Crisis Stabilization (23 hour, 59 min stay) program, which is a short term, high intensity program that accepts walk ins and first responder drop offs for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. Responsibilities include multidisciplinary team-based care, completing comprehensive risk assessments, supporting and following legal requirements, de-escalation and crisis resolution, engagement in milieu, brief therapeutic support and intervention, group facilitation, care coordination, and understanding of social determinants of health. All employees for this position within the Crisis Stabilization program will be expected to successfully complete Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills training upon hire.

SCF programs are established to serve a primary population comprised of Alaska Native people who are affiliated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian people within SCF's geographical service area. Employees should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of this population. Such knowledge is critical to ensure the achievement of SCF's vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness, and mission of working together with the Native Community to achieve wellness through health and related services:

1. Current Alaska Clinical Licensure in designated field.
2. Two (2) years of post-licensure supervised clinical work experience; OR demonstrated proficiency as a Clinician II at SCF.
3. One (1) year of psychiatric crisis experience (pre- or post-licensure); OR demonstrated proficiency as a Clinician II at SCF, which included experience handling crisis situations.
4. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, and PALS as required for specialty
