Associate Director, Procurement - Capital Projects

Associate Director of Procurement for Capital Projects at AbbVie, responsible for developing global procurement strategies, leading cross-functional teams, and managing supplier relationships to achieve cost savings and strategic objectives in the capital projects category.
Responsibilities
- Partner with VP-level stakeholders to develop global procurement strategies and annual category plans aligned with business goals
- Lead Supplier Relationship Management strategies and drive innovation through collaborative supplier partnerships
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance and process optimization across the procurement category
- Drive end-to-end procurement from sourcing strategy through contract negotiation and execution with key suppliers
- Lead and coach a team of managers, setting performance targets and addressing workforce capability and staffing needs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- 7–10 years of experience in capital projects procurement, supply chain, or operations
- Demonstrated leadership of category teams with reporting to senior executives
- Expertise in category management, market analysis, cost assessment, and negotiation
- Proficiency in developing high-impact executive-level deliverables
- Strong stakeholder management, strategic thinking, and cross-functional leadership abilities
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred
