Data Center Technician (IT Operations)

We are seeking motivated and hands-on Data Center Technicians to join a high-performing team supporting critical infrastructure environments. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical setting where precision, problem-solving, and teamwork are essential.

As a Data Center Technician, you will play a key role in deploying, maintaining, and optimizing data center hardware and network systems that power large-scale operations.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare, stage, set up, and support startup/shutdown activities for data center hardware including racks, servers, hard drives, and network switches
• Execute tasks following detailed procedures, checklists, and deployment standards
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure proper grounding, labeling, cabling, and overall installation accuracy
• Troubleshoot hardware and network issues, identify root causes, and replace faulty components
• Support hardware decommissioning activities including upgrades, refreshes, and rebuilds
• Document work, track progress, and escalate issues to technical leads as needed
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational excellence

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 1+ year of experience in data center environments (rack & stack, cabling, deployments, or decommissioning)
• Basic knowledge of server hardware, infrastructure components, and networking
• Experience with structured cabling and low voltage installations
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to follow technical procedures

Required Certification

• TLV-G (Low Voltage General Technician) License , issued by the Department of Fire Prevention and Electrical Safety
  • Candidates must currently hold this license or be able to obtain it in a short timeframe

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in large-scale or enterprise data center environments
• Prior exposure to hyperscale or cloud infrastructure operations
• Flexibility to support a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Cheyenne, WY.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.
