Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a rural hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have robust experience in emergency medicine, with a focus on a diverse patient demographic, including neonates through geriatrics. The nurse will be expected to handle a wide array of emergency cases and procedures, ensuring patient safety and timely interventions.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial assessments and triage in the emergency department.
• Provide care for multiple patients with varying degrees of illness and injury, maintaining a safe nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5.
• Manage and interpret dysrhythmias, administer blood products, and perform IV therapies.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, charge nurses, and specialty services.
• Participate in the care of critically ill patients, including those requiring continuous IV sedation and advanced airway management.
• Engage in patient and family education regarding health management and ongoing care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Michigan RN license.
• Minimum of 3 years of acute care experience, preferably in emergency settings.
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS.
• Experience with Epic EMR system.
• Ability to float within service lines as needed.
• Must be able to work every other weekend.
