Med-Surg / Tele RN Travel Contract

Weekly Hours:
• 36 hrs/week (3x12s)

Unit Details:
• 30-bed Med-Surg/Telemetry Unit
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:6–1:7
• Must be comfortable with 7-patient assignments

Required Certifications:
• BLS
• NIHSS

Patient Population:
• CHF
• COPD
• Cellulitis
• Pneumonia
• Urosepsis
• AKI
• Cholecystectomy patients
• Appendectomy patients
• General Medical/Telemetry patients

Required Skills:
• Med-Surg experience
• Telemetry experience
• Heparin drip management based on aPTT results
• Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation

Unit Support:
• Charge RN available (with patient assignment)
• PCT support on unit
• Remote Monitor Techs for telemetry monitoring

Equipment:
• Intermittent BiPAP
• No ventilator patients

Schedule:
• 12-hour shifts
• Weekends and holidays as needed
• Typically every other weekend
• No call or standby requirement

Floating:
• Required based on census
• Travelers float first

Dress Code:
• Navy Blue Scrubs
