Additional Information About the Role Call required – call hours are 5:00 pm to 7:00 am. Full‑time position. Benefits eligible. Shift length: 4–10 hours per week. Shift timing: 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, rotating days. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of RN experience in gastrointestinal, intensive care, emergency department, operating room, or another critical‑care area. Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment and educates patients and families on how to manage their condition and post‑treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance, and in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team, patients, families or caregivers, in accordance with established guidelines and standards of nursing care; proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care; assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs. This is a safety‑sensitive position; the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of the job.
