Job Summary The Marketing & Social Media Coordinator is a creative, driven, and sports‑minded storyteller responsible for bringing the Barça Residency Academy experience to life across digital platforms. This role goes beyond content creation—it is an opportunity to showcase the players, coaches, culture, and moments that make North America’s premier residential soccer academy unique. From game‑winning goals and behind‑the‑scenes moments and life on campus, the Marketing & Social Media Coordinator will be on the front lines of storytelling, transforming everyday experiences into engaging content that connects with current families, prospective student‑athletes, alumni, and soccer fans around the world. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, thinks like both a creator and marketer, and has a strong understanding of social media trends, audience engagement, and digital storytelling. This individual will help shape and execute the Academy’s social media strategy while producing high‑quality photography, video, and graphic content that strengthens the brand, supports recruiting and enrollment efforts, and drives audience growth. Responsibilities Content Creation & Production Capture and produce high‑quality photo and video content showcasing gamedays, training sessions, campus life, and behind‑the‑scenes moments. Deliver comprehensive gameday coverage for assigned matches and tournaments, including live social media updates, post‑match content, and written recaps. Edit and produce engaging short‑form video content, including trending concepts, game highlights, player features, promotional videos, testimonials, hype reels, and other branded storytelling assets. Create graphics, captions, and motion assets that reflect the Academy’s brand voice and visual standards. Maintain an organized digital asset library, including photos, videos, graphic templates, and campaign files. Social Media Strategy & Execution Execute the Academy’s content calendar and social media strategy across all core platforms. Stay current on social media trends and leverage emerging content formats, sounds, platform features, and best practices. Monitor social media performance, audience insights, and platform analytics to optimize content strategy and drive audience growth. Proactively anticipate content needs while managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines, including same‑day turnaround requests. Storytelling & Collaboration Collaborate with coaches, student‑athletes, and internal departments to identify and tell compelling stories that showcase the Barça Residency Academy experience. Highlight student‑athlete achievements, college commitments, national team call‑ups, alumni success stories, and other Academy milestones. Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all social media channels. Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to support digital marketing campaigns and broader marketing initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Marketing Department and Academy initiatives. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of soccer and sports culture. Proficiency in photography, videography, editing, and digital content creation. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.) and short‑form video editing software. Experience creating, managing, and publishing content across major social media platforms. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong planning, organization, and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Creative thinker with strong storytelling, visual communication, and content ideation skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, student‑athletes, and cross‑functional departments. Proficiency with Microsoft Office365 and Google Workspace. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work outdoors in varying and extreme weather conditions. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed for matches, tournaments, and Academy events. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Sports Management, Business, or a related field. Experience working in athletics, youth sports, or a sports‑related organization. Experience with DSLR/mirrorless photography and videography equipment. Experience with photo and video editing, and graphics building. Experience managing multiple social media accounts for a brand or organization. Passion for sports and content creation.
