Increase Center Store sales through effective shelf management and selling tools in AWG member stores Sell members on new items, conversions, filling voids, and proper shelf placement across the AWG Center Store portfolio Execute category shelf work via planogram Assist with new store tagging and resets Execute monthly focus objectives, including new items, conversions, distribution voids, promotional opportunities, pallets, and shippers Work with brokers and vendors on store resets, new stores, remodels, equipment, and shelving projects Recommend category layouts and shelf allocations, emphasizing AWG Brands and HGS Provide insights and recommendations to improve product placement within planograms Suggest products, product lines, and promotional activities; analyze slow-moving items to encourage orders Manage sales numbers within the assigned territory Assist with member training on AWG center store retail programs Provide merchandising ideas and support for end caps, supplemental ads, digital coupons, and demo programs Complete required territory reporting for the Center Store Sales Manager Requirements Bachelor’s degree Preferred/High School Graduate 5 years in the Grocery Industry Marketing/Sales Background Strong customer service skills Strong merchandising skills Ability to use screwdriver, hammer, power drill, saw etc. Valid driver’s license Daily travel and overnights required Able to lift 40 lbs. or more Able to bend, stand, and sit for long periods of time Exceptional understanding of the retail grocery industry Sales experience calling on Key Accounts Experience managing people Exceptional communication skills with all levels of retail management Attention to detail and time management skills Fact-based decision-making skills on item placement supported by sales data Self-motivated and able to accomplish established goals with minimal supervision Effective relationship-building skills Highly adaptable and able to manage various tasks while meeting multiple deadlines Proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word Must remain within 30 miles of the assigned location Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in retail grocery sales and merchandising, with a strong focus on effective shelf management, product placement, and relationship-building with key accounts.
