Bourke Street Bakery is seeking a reliable Overnight Baker Assistant to join our bakery team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about artisan bread baking, who thrives in an early-morning production environment and takes pride in producing high-quality baked goods from scratch. We are willing to train the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, mix, shape, proof, and bake artisan breads according to bakery standards
- Monitor dough fermentation and baking times with consistency and precision
- Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards throughout the shift
- Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently
- Work collaboratively with the baking and kitchen teams to meet daily production targets
- Assist with inventory rotation and ingredient preparation as needed
- Minimum 2 years of culinary experience
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
- Reliable, punctual, and highly organized
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg when required
- Food safety knowledge and attention to detail
- Availability to work overnight shifts from 12:00 AM to 7:00 AM , including weekends and holidays if needed
- Experience in a high-volume artisan bakery
- Passion for quality ingredients and traditional baking methods
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
