(QPWB), a multi-office national defense firm and the largest minority- and women-owned law firm in the United States, is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Defense Legal Assistant with 5+ years of experience to support a high-volume practice. This is a full-time, in-office position offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. About the Role The Legal Assistant will support attorneys handling workers’ compensation defense matters. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong knowledge of the WC defense process, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage a heavy, fast‑paced desk with competing deadlines. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Process, edit, format, file, and serve legal documents from dictation Prepare WCAB‑compliant pleadings utilizing EAMS Execute Panel QME requests and manage the selection process Maintain professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties Manage attorney calendars, including deadlines, hearings, and follow‑ups Organize and maintain case files (physical and electronic), ensuring accuracy and accessibility Monitor case progress and escalated issues requiring attorney involvement Handle detailed timekeeping and assist with billing entry Obtain subpoenaed records and assist with document production requests Provide general administrative and litigation support as needed Qualifications 5+ years of legal assistant experience supporting workers’ compensation defense matters Strong knowledge of the workers’ compensation defense process Experience with EAMS e‑filing and WCAB procedures required Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) Typing speed of 70+ WPM Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills Ability to manage a high‑volume workload in a fast‑paced environment High School Diploma or equivalent required What We Offer QPWB offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package for full‑time employees, including: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Employer‑paid life insurance and short‑term disability 401(k) with employer match Paid vacation, holidays, and personal time off Opportunities for professional growth within a national law firm To Apply For immediate consideration, qualified candidates should submit their resume.
