A prominent health center in Mobile, Alabama is seeking a full-time locum Optometrist (OD) for an ongoing primary eye care assignment. Step into an established outpatient primary care clinic, delivering routine and diagnostic optometric care across a diverse community panel.

• Clinical Scope: Provide full-scope primary eye care and diagnostic evaluations, including:

  • Performing comprehensive eye and vision examinations

  • Diagnosing, managing, and treating common ocular diseases and conditions

  • Prescribing corrective lenses and appropriate therapeutic medications

  • Completing clinical documentation and coordinating specialty ophthalmology referrals as needed

• The Schedule & Hours: Full-time weekday schedule ( Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM ).

• Call & Weekend Obligations: Zero weekend shifts. Zero call coverage required.

• Work Environment: 100% outpatient community primary care clinic setting.

All candidate submissions must meet state licensing criteria and complete standard facility credentialing.

• Degree & Certification: Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution; current NBEO certification .

• Licensure: Active Alabama Optometry License (or ability to obtain prior to start).

• Clinical Competency: Strong communication and patient-care skills; prior experience in outpatient or primary eye care settings preferred.
