Investment teams are organized into an Equity Strategies group and a Multi Asset Strategies group.· Most investment team members are engaged in original research using fundamental intuition, market intelligence, modern finance and scientific methods.· They are committed to providing clients with reliable investment processes, consistent performance, transparency, and access to our investment resources.· Our client base is comprised of institutional investors across the globe, including public & private retirement funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments & foundations, and sub-advisory mandates.Responsibilities· Reporting to the Database Team Manager, this individual will be a contributor providing database, server, and application support, leveraging Microsoft Windows, SQL Server, VMware, MS Azure, and industry storage technologies.· The primary focus would be to provide SQL Server database support and monitoring, as ll as system administrator functions involving VMware, SQL Sentry and other Microsoft technologies.· Work directly with application Developers to provide SQL administration support.· Assist investment groups with new database creation and initial data loads.· Support, troubleshoot, and apply SQL permissions across prod/stage/dev environments.· Tune customized SQL maintenance plans across all production SQL servers.· Performance tuning using SQL DMVs, SQL Sentry, execution plans· Create scripts to automate administrative tasks such as post monthly OS patching systems checkup process using but not limited to PowerShell, Windows Task Scheduler, and others.· SQL data security, capacity planning, database tables indexing and query tuning.· SQL Server table portioning, SQL Server replication, Data virtualization using Polybase technology.· Use third party tools to snap production databases to low region environments.· Installation and configuration of additional SQL Windows environments utilizing VMware.· Basic administrative tasks for Active Directory to support Microsoft SQL Server.· Maintain and optimize resources utilization of VMware virtual machines.· Availability to monitor, respond to and resolve after-hours requests for MSSQL support.Qualifications· Undergraduate degree in technology or applicable technical training/certification in lieu of degree preferred· Direct SQL server knowledge and experience (installation, configuration, performance tuning, security, maintenance).· Strong knowledge of Microsoft based technologies, including SQL Server 2017/19/22, Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2017/19/22.· Strong experience with Always-On Availability Groups, Replication· Experience with VMware or other virtualization technologies.· Self-starter with ability to multi-task while maintaining focus on deadlines with little supervision.· Attentiveness with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.· Ability to communicate well, actively listen, and be responsible.· Must be a quick learner, highly motivated, and be able to work independently.· Positive attitude with the ability to work well and collaboratively in a team environment.· Experience with other database engines like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.· Pure storage platform experience.· Financial industry knowledge or experience.· Azure databases, Blob Storage, Data Lakes· Experience in developing automated processes and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell)· GIT, Azure Dev Ops (ADO), Windows Clustering and WSFC.
