Staff Accountant

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Staff Accountant for a top 3PL Logistics, Warehousing, Fulfillment, and Distribution client. This candidate will play a critical role in supporting both Accounts Receivable and General Accounting functions while helping maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data. The ideal candidate will have experience with NetSuite, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and customer account management. This role will be hybrid and require you to be onsite in Elwood, IL 2-3 days per week.

Day-to-Day: -Manage all Accounts Receivable and Cash Management activities -Apply and post daily customer cash receipts and remittances -Investigate and resolve unapplied cash and payment discrepancies -Monitor customer accounts and conduct collections activities -Communicate with customers on balances, payment status, and statements -Generate and review AR aging reports -Maintain accurate customer account records and reconciliations -Assist with billing support and customer account inquiries -Prepare and post journal entries -Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform bank reconciliations -Support month-end and year-end close processes -Prepare financial reports and supporting schedules -Analyze account variances and research discrepancies -Complete balance sheet reconciliations -Support external audit requests and documentation requirements -Assist the accounting team with additional responsibilities as business needs arise

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

3+ years of accounting experience within 3PL, logistics, warehousing, distribution, or supply chain environments

NetSuite experience

Experience with both Accounts Receivable and General Ledger accounting

Strong understanding of accounting principles and account reconciliations

Experience with journal entries, month-end close, and financial reporting support

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Ability to balance transactional accounting duties with higher-level accounting responsibilities

Self-starter with strong ownership mentality and follow-through Experience supporting external audits

Experience with financial analysis and variance commentary

Willingness to support broader accounting functions as business needs shift
