Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Overview

A manufacturing organization in LaGrange, GA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead engineering activities across current programs and upcoming product launches. This is an on-site role based at the company's LaGrange, GA facility.

What you'll do

• Manage, motivate, and lead a team of engineers, providing direction, training, and performance evaluation
• Build and manage the engineering budget, including fixed and capital budgets
• Oversee cost and manpower across all projects
• Lead new product launches
• Develop and maintain process standards for manufacturing all parts
• Drive development and improvement of engineering processes, structure, and performance
• Specify and oversee project management practices
• Explore new materials and processes to improve quality, process, and reliability
• Maintain project documentation in line with required timelines
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that drive cost reductions and customer give backs
• Ensure engineering disciplines are followed on development programs, understanding design and engineering requirements
• Apply strong shop floor experience in manufacturing, mechanical, or process engineering
• Manage performance of direct reports
• Follow and enforce compliance with company safety rules and regulations

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) required
• Precision stamping or molding experience preferred
• Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
• Effective and professional communication skills
• Solid understanding of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing methodologies, with a proven track record of implementation
• Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability
• Ability to motivate a team, drive results, and delegate authority to subordinate personnel
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience (customers, suppliers, employees)
• Results-oriented approach
• Effective leadership, management, and development of direct reports
