This facility is a Level I adult trauma center that also provides care for pediatric patients. The hospital features state-of-the-art technology with the EPIC electronic medical record system and offers comprehensive trauma care with 24-hour trauma surgeon coverage and specialty back-up support.

NP/PA - Trauma Surgery

Job Details:
Locum tenens opportunity from May to July with up to full-time work available
Function primarily as a trauma hospitalist rounder with some intermittent ED consult, trauma activations, and procedures work
Possibility for surgical and trauma critical care work for qualified candidates
No call required - in-house coverage only
Round on 10-14 admitted non-ICU patients or 6 ICU patients per day
Handle 2-15 admissions/ED patients per 24-hour shift
Work autonomously with 24-hour trauma surgeon support
Care for patients aged 0-100+, primarily adult and adolescent population
Manage ventilation (including non-invasive vent management - BIPAP/CPAP)
Perform procedures including chest tube insertion, central line placement, arterial line placement, and suturing minor lacerations
Respond to ED for trauma alerts
Facilitate patient discharges and ER admissions
Provide daily rounding and management of all conditions (no hospitalists used)
Follow guidelines and meet non-clinical expectations for tracking
Must be Board Certified (ACNP, AGNP, PA-C)
Must have active Minnesota license
ATLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required
DEA registration required
Self-Query NPDB report required at time of presentation (must be pulled within same month)
Minimum 1 year of practice as an APP in the inpatient setting (trauma, ICU, and/or orthopedics experience preferred)

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
