Sr Lab Instrument Services Technician - Life Sciences Client Site

About the Role As a CBRE Laboratory Instrument Services Senior Technician, you will calibrate, maintain, and perform major repairs of scientific instrumentation. This position is part of the Critical and Technical Services job function, responsible for technical maintenance services in critical client environments. What You’ll Do Take apart, examine, clean, fix, calibrate, check, and maintain special equipment, systems, and controls. Operate test equipment, including multimeters, frequency generators, counters, galvanometers, digital logic probes, and oscilloscopes. Coordinate the removal of equipment requiring extensive repairs during scheduled maintenance periods. Troubleshoot, service, or resolve problems while performing unscheduled work. Record and report abnormal functions or out‑of‑tolerance conditions of equipment, initiating corrective action and documentation as needed. Review and document daily records of inspections, maintenance activity, repairs, and other work performed. Coordinate with external contractors on repairs covered by maintenance agreements and communicate with customer staff and contractors about calibration, repair, and operation of equipment. Locate part sources, estimate costs, and prepare requisitions. Track instrument and part reliability, making alternate service, supplier, and parts recommendations. Oversee the development of equipment, maintenance, and calibration procedures. Apply standard principles with limited practical experience. Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values. Impact the quality of your own work. Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and verify understanding. What You’ll Need Experience in HPLC and GC maintenance and repair preferred. 4‑year degree in a scientific discipline, or trade school diploma with 2–3 years of job‑related experience. If lacking a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered; appropriate license or certification required by law. Meet physical requirements: stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting or carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more. Use existing procedures to solve standard problems. Analyze information and standard practices to make judgments. In‑depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset. Intermediate math skills, including ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and financial-related figures.
