Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Trauma Level I, neuro, vascular, and ortho experience along with an active CA RN license.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of an acute care hospital with 277 staffed beds
• 13-week assignment with Day shift schedule (3x12 Hours, 7:00-19:00), with variable start times of 7:00 or 9:00
• May require covering one night shift during the contract as needed
• Weekend shifts required
• On-call required, with call distributed equally among nursing staff every 6 weeks (up to 6-8 shifts in a 6 week period, including nights, evenings, and weekends)
• Floating required between like units and may include floating to nearby affiliate hospitals
• Scrubs provided for OR/Endo/L&D/PACU
• Uses Epic for charting
• Free parking available

Requirements

• Active CA RN license in hand required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (3 years preferred, 5 years ideal)
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• Experience in trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic surgical procedures required due to facility's trauma status
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required (may include Charge RNs/Leads)
• Copy of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform circulating and/or scrub RN duties across a broad range of surgical specialties including vascular, gynecology, plastics, neurology, general surgery, orthopedics, urology, robotics, ENT, bariatrics, and thoracic procedures
• Experience with equipment such as cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources/cords, and Hana Table may be utilized
• Knowledge of administration of blood and blood products, infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, and Universal Protocol time out procedures required
• Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• Travelers must reside within a 50-mile radius unless accepted locally at a lower bill rate
• Local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers accepted for this position
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• RTO must be submitted with the initial application
