Senior Mobile Developer

Role Description

The client is seeking a driven and self-motivated Senior Mobile Engineer who is focused on building and delivering high-quality native app experiences (iOS/Android). You will work with a growing team to build a seamless user experience for their native app. Ideally, you have experience working with early stage startups and have worked with the React Native Framework.

Location: 100% Remote. Working hours are based on the overlap between Central Time and Eastern Time US Time Zone.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the product management and engineering teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality mobile applications using React Native.
• Work closely with the rest of our engineering team to connect with our API.
• Communicate effectively with the executive team internally, as well as apply a consultative approach externally with clients and/or strategic partners.
• Optimize application performance and ensure responsiveness across various devices.
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
• Leverage data to inform decisions and define metrics to measure the success of new features.
• Have a passion for coding and getting your hands dirty.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development, with at least 3 years working specifically with React Native.
• Proficiency in React.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and React Native framework.
• Experience with state management libraries such as Redux or MobX.
• Solid understanding of mobile app architecture and design patterns.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a small, remote team environment.
• Experience utilizing AI, i.e. Claude, and an eagerness to continue incorporating AI.
• Willingness to start part-time and grow towards full-time hours.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related area.
• Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Firebase, etc.).
• Familiarity with GraphQL and TypeScript.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a personal portfolio showcasing your work.
