Assembler, 1st Shift - HPDC

Job Summary The Assembler will prepare and perform routine electronic and mechanical assembly operations at the unit and module assembly level using blueprints, work instructions, ECOs, deviations, drawings, diagrams, and written processes. The Assembler assembles and inspects components, parts, subassemblies, and assemblies. Shift schedule: Monday through Friday, 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM (first shift). Overtime available Monday–Friday and on weekends as needed/occasionally. Key Responsibilities Observe all safety regulations, including personal protective equipment. Assemble components to a final configured product using process instructions, engineering documentation, specialized tooling and fixtures, measuring equipment, and hand tools. Read and interpret assembly drawings, part lists, operations sheets, and visual aids; recommend process improvements. Perform rework from test failures according to standard repair procedures and may incorporate engineering change notices into completed boards. Prep and insert electronic components onto circuit boards, hand solder components, and touch up or rework boards. Verify quality of product at required intervals and ensure accuracy of all work. Provide training and support to lower‑level assemblers as required. Operate material handling equipment, read and interpret engineering documentation and process worksheets, and set up and operate assigned machines and equipment. Meet established productivity and quality standards. Follow lead instructions on building units. Minimum Qualifications 3–5 years of related experience; assembler level 1–5 varies by years of experience and scope of responsibility. High school diploma or equivalent. Good to excellent assembly blueprint reading experience and skills. Ability to use hand tools such as torque wrench, drills, and inspection tools. Ability to read and interpret measuring devices including rulers, tape measures, and scales. Effective communication skills. Basic computer skills. Other duties as assigned. Right to work in the U.S. and access to export‑controlled information and source code. Desired Qualifications IPC‑610 and J‑STD‑001 certifications. Proficient MS Word and Excel user. Location San Diego, California. Compensation Hourly position. Salary range: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour (actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and performance). Salary minimum: $40,000.
