Transfer SpecialistThe Transfer Specialist is responsible for safely and effectively transporting deceased individuals from hospitals, care homes and residences to our funeral homes. Learn more at SCI-Corp.comJob ResponsibilitiesTransfersSafely drives company owned professional vehicles to perform "first call" transfer of deceased in accordance with local and state/provincial laws as well as company policies and procedures. Follows processes for chain-of-custody, paperwork, and deceased identificationCooperates with first responders, Coroner, hospital staff, or Senior Living facility and accommodate their processes and proceduresFor home transfers, courteously and professionally interacts with bereaved family members; exhibits sensitivity to environment; minimizes conversation. Follows company procedures in transferring soiled garments, bedding, or other materials; leaves a warm and courteous first impressionEnters deceased event information into proprietary software according to company proceduresTransports caskets to airports, care centers, or funeral homes; assists with moving casketsVehicle MaintenanceWashes, vacuums, and cleans vehicles ensuring vehicle is presentableFuels vehicles as necessaryFollows safety guidelines and expenditure processesMaintains personal protective and transfer supplies in vehicles including cleaning productsIdentifies vehicle engine or operating issues to management; drives vehicles for repair or inspectionMinimum RequirementsEducationHigh School Diploma or equivalentLicensesDrivers License: Current state/province issued driver's license with an acceptable driving recordExperienceAt least one (1) year work experience as a courier, driver; with direct customer interaction strongly preferredExperience in industry a plusKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility work schedule to support business needs including weekends and nightsAbility to communicate and maintain professional appearance when in contact with families of deceasedAbility to work on-call weekends, nights and holidays rotationAbility to lift up to 75 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally; push/pull up to 200 poundsAbility to drive in hazardous, heavy traffic, and weather conditionsBasic computer skills requiredWork EnvironmentWork indoors and or outdoors during all seasons and weather conditionsLocal and/or multiple location traveling requiredComply with Field dress code policyWork PosturesFrequent, continuous periods of time standing, up 6 hours per dayClimbing stairs to access buildings frequentlyPhysical DemandsPhysical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers and phone usageLifting, pushing, pulling up to 75 poundsWork HoursWorking beyond "standard" hours as the need arisesLocal travel up to 100% using company vehicleCompensation$18.00/HourlyPostal Code: 45331Category (Portal Searching): OperationsJob Location: US-OH - Greenville
