Guthrie Job Corps is seeking a full-time Residential Services & Student Store Associate . The Residential Services & Student Store Associate provides paraprofessional-level student support while assisting with the orderly operation, safety, and security of the residential living program. In addition, this position is responsible for operating the student store/kiosk, including selling snacks, beverages, and other approved items to students, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the store remains clean, organized, and properly stocked.

The selected incumbent must be available to work any shift and day of the week due to the Center’s 24/7 operation. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively with students and staff, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, supportive, and positive residential environment. 

Shift:

The Prime Shift hours are 3:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Responsibilities:  

• Ensures orderly, clean-living conditions by scheduling and supervising clean-up and submitting repair requests.
• Provides supervision for the cafeteria, laundry, special activities (on and off Center), and other areas of the program as scheduled or assigned.
• Identifies and assists students in handling special problems and conducts dormitory meetings.
• Maintains communication with students’ counselors, instructors, and with other staff members.
• Attends staff in-service training sessions and other training or meetings as directed.
• Establishes a close working relationship with students, dealing justly and impartially regardless of their ability, achievement or background, and works to motivate them toward goals.
• Initiates and directs dormitory programs, utilizing Center services and activities to benefit students.
• Follows all non-health standing orders.
• Transports students to various activities and events as needed.
• Maintains an environment wherein students and staff feel safe and secure.
• Maintains logbooks as directed and authorized that show activity during shift.
• Ensures case notes and other entries in CIS are accurate and up to date.
• Secures student's personal property/items when a student is absent for 24 hours; all items are to be placed in property and logged.
• Submits time sheets according to the Residential Living Supervisor. 
• Assists and trains student leaders per center policy.
• Participate in intramural programs.
• Ensure students meet their evening schedule.
• Provides support for safety and security in the center.
• Ensures that buildings are secure and clean at all times.
• Conducts periodic checks and maintains order and discipline in his/her assigned dorm.
• Works towards meeting performance center goals.
• Follows the CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily.
• Comply with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulation, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) Bizzell policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
• Adheres to required property control policies and procedures.
• Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices.
• Models, mentors, and monitors appropriate Career Success Standards.
• Helps students become more employable through continuous reinforcement.
• Participates in PRH-mandated staff training. Failure to participate may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
• Operates the student store/kiosk during assigned hours, providing courteous and professional customer service to students while accurately processing sales and handling cash or other approved payment methods. 
• Maintains appropriate inventory levels of snacks, beverages, and other approved merchandise; stocks, organizes, and cleans the student store and reports supply needs as necessary. 
• Maintains accurate sales and inventory records in accordance with Center policies and procedures. 
• Provides positive interaction and mentorship to students while operating the student store and reinforces appropriate Career Success Standards and workplace behaviors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• ServSafe Certification is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
• Computer literacy with basic computer functions, email, internet, and basic programs such as Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to develop and maintain professional and collaborative relationships with students.
• Knowledge of residential living and dormitory procedures and practices.
• High level of communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Education and Experience:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate’s degree in a human services field such as Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counseling, or related fields is preferred.
• Minimum one year working with youth or related experience and/or training.

Physical Requirements:  

• Must be able to lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.
