Diesel Mechanic

Service Tech IV As a Diesel Mechanic – Experienced (Service Tech IV), you will perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment with minimal supervision. You will work safely, professionally, and efficiently to improve and challenge your skills. Responsibilities Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools while exercising independent judgment. Travel to customer job sites to repair/maintain rental or customer‑owned equipment and maintain a clean, professional service vehicle. Assist in training lower‑level technicians as needed. Maintain complete and timely paperwork and electronic documentation (work orders) daily. Assist with pick‑up and delivery of equipment and parts. Other duties assigned as required. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. 5+ years of experience repairing or maintaining equipment and tools. Advanced mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools. Extensive knowledge of construction equipment and an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams. Must own tools applicable to the position. Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills. Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs. This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
