Job Title: Cath Lab Technologist

Location: Houston, Texas 77024
Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Duration: 13 Weeks (with possibility of extension)

The Cath Lab Technologist is responsible for assisting physicians in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures. This role involves operating advanced imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality cardiovascular care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

• Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Perform fluoroscopic imaging and operate C-arm equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
• Prepare, position, and educate patients prior to procedures.
• Administer contrast media in accordance with departmental policies and scope of practice.
• Monitor patient condition and accurately document procedure-related information.
• Scrub, monitor, and circulate during Cath Lab, Electrophysiology (EP), and Structural Heart procedures as required.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on imaging equipment and promptly report any malfunctions.
• Maintain compliance with radiation safety regulations and infection control standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support emergency procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
• Support team development by mentoring less experienced staff and contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives.

• ARRT (R) certification or equivalent Radiologic Technologist credential.
• Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred, if required by facility).
• Experience in Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology (IR), or Special Procedures.
• Proficiency in fluoroscopy, C-arm imaging, sterile scrubbing, and patient monitoring.
• Knowledge of PACS, radiation safety, and contrast administration.

• RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification.
• Experience with Electrophysiology (EP) procedures, including monitoring and scrubbing.
• Experience supporting Structural Heart procedures (e.g., TAVR, MitraClip).
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
