Real Estate Associate Attorney

Location: Philadelphia, PA
Salary: $235,000–$435,000

Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney to join a leading global law firm's Real Estate Group in Philadelphia. This opportunity is ideal for a mid-to-senior-level associate with at least 3 years of transactional real estate experience . Large law firm experience is preferred, though candidates with strong real estate experience at boutique or mid-size firms will also be considered.

The successful candidate will handle a broad range of sophisticated commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions and dispositions, financing, development, land use and zoning, and commercial leasing.

• Represent clients in sophisticated commercial real estate transactions.

• Handle real estate acquisitions and dispositions from due diligence through closing.

• Advise clients on real estate financing transactions.

• Support real estate development projects, including related transactional matters.

• Handle land use and zoning matters and advise clients regarding applicable requirements.

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases and related agreements.

• Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, financing documents, development agreements, leases, and other real estate transaction documents.

• Manage small-to-mid-sized matters independently and take ownership of portions of larger transactions.

• Conduct due diligence and identify and address legal and commercial risks.

• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, lenders, developers, brokers, and other transaction participants.

• Coordinate with attorneys across practices to address tax, corporate, finance, land use, and other issues arising in real estate transactions.

• Manage transaction timelines and competing priorities while delivering high-quality work product.

• Collaborate effectively with partners, associates, and other members of the firm's Real Estate team.

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

• At least 3 years of solid transactional real estate experience.

• Experience with acquisitions and dispositions, real estate financing, development, land use and zoning, and commercial leasing.

• Large law firm experience is preferred; boutique or mid-size firm experience will also be considered.

• Strong transactional drafting and negotiation skills.

• Excellent legal research and analytical abilities.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties.

• Demonstrated ability to manage small-to-mid-sized matters independently or take ownership of portions of larger matters.

• Strong organizational and project management skills.

• Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Strong client service and interpersonal skills.

• Competitive base salary of $235,000–$435,000 , depending on experience and qualifications.
