LPN PositionType of Position: Hourly; 10-month Hours may vary based on program needsReports To: Building Principals, immediate supervisorSalary: $27.00/hr (starting salary for new hires)Qualifications: Required • Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license Preferred • Current CPR certification • Minimum of two years nursing experience • Experience working with students with multiple handicaps • Clerical and computer experiencePosition Summary: The LPN assists with students' daily routine health care, medications, treatments, episodic and first aid care and manages the school's Health Services Office, under the supervision of the Licensed School Nurse (LSN).Will provide more individualized and potentially complex medical cares to student(s) Includes supporting student(s) in classroom settings, monitoring medical needs as well as educational supports as directed by teacher/case managerEssential Duties:Manage site Health Services OfficeMaintain confidentiality in all areas related to studentsReport students with repeated symptoms/problems/incidents of communicable disease to LSNAssists the LSN in obtaining required verification of immunizationsMaintains continual communication with LSN regarding health office occurrences or changes to student health informationAccurately complete/maintain a variety of records, including services to students with IEPsAssists with routine assessments, refers all findings to the LSNAttends required district, building, or nursing meetings and trainingsWill provide more individualized and potentially complex medical cares to student(s)Handle written/verbal communications with parents and ISD742 staff in a professional mannerDispense medication and provide treatment as prescribed, this may include suctioning, tube feeding, checking blood pressure, catheterization, auscultation, and otoscopic examsProvide first aid as neededOther duties as assignedPhysical Factors: Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions Light Work: exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objectsBenefits: We offer a comprehensive benefits package for employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week*.
