Evidence to Action (E2A) Program Manager

Evidence to Action (E2A) Program Manager School of Medicine, Stanford, California, United States Stanford’s Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) program is dedicated to advancing the translation of scientific discoveries into real‑world health improvements. The Evidence to Action (E2A) program seeks to bridge the gap between research and policy by equipping researchers with tools to engage change agents, fostering impactful collaborations, and promoting health. By promoting partnerships across disciplines and communities, E2A enhances the impact of research on health policies and improves translation of research into actionable solutions. The Senior Associate Dean of Research Office within the School of Medicine at Stanford University seeks an Evidence to Action (E2A) Program Manager who will play a key role in developing, implementing, and evaluating the E2A program. Responsibilities include conducting literature reviews, interviewing key informants, assessing institutional resources, and synthesizing findings to create educational tools, training materials, and strategies that support the program’s mission. The E2A Program Manager will collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, track program progress, ensure deliverables are met, disseminate research findings through publications, and develop creative solutions to meet program needs through grant writing and resource management. To be successful in this role, the candidate must remain adaptive to evolving program needs, emerging health policy challenges, and new research directions while continuously monitoring the program’s efficacy and impact. Duties Assist in designing experiments and exercise independent initiative and judgment gained from completing a variety of high‑level assignments, including defining variables, formulating hypotheses, and selecting subjects, sources of information, or planning and coordinating experimental protocols. Adapt or work out the details of new, nonstandard procedures, with general guidance and suggestions from the supervisor. Interpret, synthesize, and analyze data using scientific or statistical techniques. Solve problems and make decisions that affect the direction of the research and result in independent contributions to the overall project. Select and apply standard calculations and formulas independently to compile data or process documents; often serve as a resource for research methods and numerical analyses. Co‑author sections of research publications and regulatory reports as needed. Complete project‑related administrative and budgetary responsibilities of a limited scope as needed. Supervise staff or students as needed, including oversight and instruction on techniques, and provide consultation on project work. Other duties may also be assigned. Desired Qualifications Master’s degree in an applicable social science, public health, or related field. Experience with research. Background in policy‑related work. Experience with program coordination, stakeholder engagement, and training development. Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Education & Experience (Required) Bachelor of Arts degree in an applicable social science related field and two years of applicable experience, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to an applicable social science field. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required) Comprehensive understanding of scientific theory and methods. General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs. Strong analytical skills and excellent judgment. Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance. Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with human study participants. Developing supervisory skills. Physical Requirements Frequently perform desk‑based computer tasks, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds. Occasionally stand/walk, sit, use a telephone, write by hand, and sort/file paperwork or parts. Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl; rarely reach/work above shoulders; operate foot and/or hand controls. Working Conditions May be required to work non‑standard, extended or weekend hours in support of research work. Attend events or conferences in support of research work. Compensation The expected pay range for this position is $85,376 to $99,581 per annum. Pay will be determined based on the scope and responsibilities of the position, qualifications of the candidate, departmental budget, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay.
