Production Scheduler

Description The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing the master production schedule to support on-time delivery, efficient resource utilization, and alignment with customer demand. This role serves as a critical link between Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain, ensuring that production plans are accurate, achievable, and responsive to changing business needs. The Production Scheduler manages demand signals, material availability, and production capacity to drive execution across all manufacturing areas, including saw, weld, machine shop, and assembly. This position plays a key role in supporting SAP/MRP accuracy, inventory optimization, and overall production performance. Reporting Relationships The Production Scheduler reports to the Director of Plant Operations while maintaining close working relationship with all interfaces of the organization. Requirements Primary Responsibilities Collaborates closely with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Material Control, Quality, and Sales to ensure all customer expectations are met while optimizing resources. Plans and coordinates production schedules for saw, weld, machine shop, and assembly. Maintains master production schedule in effort to minimize changes. Ensure all production schedules meet on-time delivery goals and raw materials requirements. Monitors sales forecast and production forecast to ensure demand is reflective in MRP. Schedules outside processing and communicates with outside supply vendors to ensures accurate and timely delivery of orders. Provides input to management regarding scheduling problems, material shortages, design changes, and backlogs. Provides weekly reporting on production orders status and completion to sales and service. Actively participate in analyzing and maintaining appropriate inventory levels to meet schedule requirements. Work with Operations to develop potential solutions to improve production performance. Lead and/or represent supply chain and operations on functional sub-teams where appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience) 3–5+ years of experience in production scheduling, planning, or manufacturing operations Experience in heavy manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred) Strong understanding of production workflows, capacity planning, and material flow Key Competencies Strong organizational and planning skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Analytical and problem-solving capability Effective cross-functional communication Attention to detail with a focus on accuracy Ability to anticipate issues and proactively adjust plans #J-18808-Ljbffr Sherman Reilly Inc
