Our Exploration division is growing, and we are looking for a US Regional Exploration Safety, Health & Security Specialist to join our team! The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, governing, and driving continuous improvement in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental, and Community (SHEC) policies, standards, and management systems for exploration activities across the United States.At Barrick, our vision is to be the world's most valued gold mining business by finding, developing, and operating the best assets with the best people. We are committed to a safe work environment sending every person home safe and healthy every day and leaving a sustainable legacy on our host communities.Responsibilities:Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to ensure effective implementation of integrated SHEC programs.Partners with Exploration leadership to proactively manage critical risks, strengthen safety culture, and reduce the likelihood of incidents with the objective of preventing fatalities and serious incidents, minimizing environmental impact or property damage, while fostering positive community relationships and protecting the Company's License to Operate (LTO) across all U.S. exploration activities.Ensure all U.S. exploration activities comply with corporate Safety and Health standards, as well as applicable federal, state, and local regulations (including OSHA, MSHA, and state-specific requirements).Lead the implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of the Exploration Occupational Health & Safety Management System.Plan, lead, and participate in Management Assurance Reviews (MARs), internal audits, and field-based safety inspections across U.S. exploration projects.Oversee the deployment and effectiveness of Fatal Risk Management processes and Life-Saving Controls relevant to exploration and contractor activities.Promote and embed a strong, proactive safety culture focused on visible leadership, risk awareness, and incident-free performance.Design, implement, and deliver safety leadership, emergency response, and risk management training for employees and contractors.Review, analyze, and report safety and health performance metrics, trends, and leading indicators.Ensure exploration activities comply with corporate Environmental standards and all applicable U.S. federal, state, and local environmental regulations.Lead the implementation and monitoring of Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements applicable to exploration activities.Oversee the identification, assessment, and management of environmental aspects and impacts associated with exploration programs.Ensure environmental controls, monitoring programs, and reporting mechanisms are effectively implemented and maintained.Support permitting, baseline studies, and environmental risk assessments for exploration projects.Lead or support investigations of environmental incidents and near misses, ensuring timely reporting and effective corrective actions.Promote environmental awareness and training for employees and contractors involved in exploration activities.Support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and the development and tracking of corrective and preventive action plans.Lead occupational health programs, including industrial hygiene, health surveillance, fatigue management, and preventive health initiativesPerform other duties as assignedQualification:Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related field - Or have College / professional certification with significant experience in Health and Safety requiredMinimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Safety, Health, Environment, and/or Social Performance roles within mining, exploration, or heavy industry preferredDemonstrated experience supporting exploration or remote field-based operations preferredStrong working knowledge of U.S. regulatory frameworks, including OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and states' environmental regulations preferredProven ability to influence leaders, multidisciplinary teams, and contractors preferredStrong leadership, communication, analytical, and risk management skills requiredHigh personal commitment to safety leadership and Barrick´s DNA values ? based performance.Eligible to live and work in the USA requiredFluent in reading, writing, reading and interrupting in English language requiredA comprehensive compensation package including a competitive medical, dental, and vision plan with national provider networks, a 401k retirement plan with employer contribution, paid time off, company-sponsored medical clinics, company match share purchase program, and much more!Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team.Opportunities to grow and learn with the industry colleagues are endless.Access to a variety of career opportunities across the organization.Barrick is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.Thank you for your application, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted
