DescriptionProvide technical advice and guidance for all phases of assigned large/complex Engineering projects and programs, ensuring the successful conclusion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost.Review, investigate and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projectsManage projects and serve as subject matter expert (SME) on large/complex site planning/construction, expansion or modificationsProvide guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable processes, practices, and existing/proposed local, state and federal regulationsContribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated Engineering areasDevelop and evaluate AFE’s (Authorization for Expenditure) for capital funding requestsMay evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipmentMay represent the site on company sponsored steering committees, task forces, or teamsPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and five (5) years of related experience in Engineering or related field, ORMaster's degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and three (3) years of related experience in Engineering or related fieldKnowledge of the principles and practices of EngineeringAble to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusionsSkilled in managing large/complex Engineering projectsAble to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques for operational improvementAbility to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautionsSkilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazardsAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingPreferredAdvanced degree or Professional Engineering (PE) CertificationCriteria/ConditionsAbility to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in EnglishAbility to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standardsMust be able to work in a potentially stressful environmentWork is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particlesWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and seeOccasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds during the course of the workdayPersonal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as requiredFreeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as per applicable State LawsWhat We Offer You The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $97,500-$138,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
