Job Position: Cashier/Crew Member (Seasonal)(May through August)

Compensation: $16.90 - $19.00 hourly DOE

The primary responsibilities of a Cashier/Crew Member are to provide customer service in various departments, process cash sale transactions at the register, and put away freight. As a crew member, you will focus on operational aspect of the store, primarily dealing with product loadouts, cutting of wood and PVC pipe, building BBQs and Patio furniture, and providing other helpful services to visiting customers. Cashier days will primarily revolve around processing transactions at the front end registers and directing customer inquiries to the appropriate department.

Major Responsibilities

The major responsibilities for this position include:

•             Greet customers by asking them the magic question: “What can I help you find today?”

•             Cut glass, keys, rope, tubing, wire, and wood

•             Build product including screens

•             Put away freight

•             Assist with aisle management including down stocking, fronting and facing, cleaning

•             Assist customers if all other associates are currently helping other customers

•             Assist with heavy items and load-outs of lumber, soil, concrete, etc.

•             Assist customers at the registers and finalize sales.

The minimum requirements for this position include:

•             Education/Training: High School degree

•             A commitment to service, excellence and customer satisfaction

•             Ability to communicate with associates and customers

•             Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills with a strong willingness to learn

•             Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business

The minimum physical requirements for this position include:

•             Ability to stand for an extended period of time

•             Move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth

•             Ability to lift 60 lbs regularly

•             Valid Driver’s License, must be insurable
