Radiologist Technologist-Limited

The Radiologist Technologist-Limited is responsible for the maintenance and quality of patient care on a continuing basis for the Diagnostic Radiology department and throughout the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Produce a variety of high-quality radiographs through proper positioning and technique.
2. Utilize assigned functions with the Radiology Information System to complete paperwork and document.
3. Utilize the hospital computer system to enter radiology charges, and/or credits.
4. Review patient's chart for confirmation of physician's orders and follows written and/or verbal protocols and instructions.
5. Follow department, ACR, NRC and State policies and regulations for radiation safety to keep exposure "ALARA"
6. Educate the patient and family when necessary, regarding exams and procedures.
7. Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel.
8. Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to appropriate leader.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

9. Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling, when necessary, to ensure patient care.

Education and Experience:

Minimum Required Education: Completion of Limited Scope Radiologic Technologist educational program. Must pass the ARRT Limited Scope core examination.

Experience: None required, healthcare background preferred.

Certificates. Licenses. Registrations:

Applicants must have a Virginia Department of Health license to practice as a LIMITED Radiologic Technologist; must be BLS certified within 1 month of employment.

Qualifications

Technical/other training or better in Radiologic Technology.
