Assistant Store Director

Location: Tuscaloosa, AL

Position Overview

The Assistant Store Director partners closely with the Store Director to lead all aspects of store performance, team development, and customer experience. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on the sales floor, builds authentic relationships, and takes pride in delivering an elevated, service-driven retail experience.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Experience & Brand Representation

• Cultivate an environment of authentic customer connection through every interaction 
• Act as a brand ambassador with exceptional knowledge of the Tom Beckbe product line 
• Discover customer needs and deliver thoughtful, personalized solutions 
• Support all customer service needs including returns, exchanges, and issue resolution 

Leadership & Team Development

• Support recruiting, hiring, and training of retail associates 
• Lead by example on the floor, setting the standard for service, selling, and professionalism 
• Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to drive individual and team performance 
• Step in to lead the store in the absence of the Store Director 

Sales & Business Performance

• Drive store sales through active selling, clienteling, and team leadership 
• Support execution of sales goals and key performance metrics 
• Help identify opportunities to improve conversion, units per transaction, and customer retention 

Operations & Inventory

• Assist in managing daily store operations including scheduling, merchandising, and store standards 
• Monitor inventory levels and partner with corporate and warehouse teams to plan for future needs 
• Ensure the store consistently reflects premium brand standards 

Community & Events

• Support execution of in-store events and local partnerships 
• Help establish the store as a meaningful presence within the local community 

Qualifications

• 3–6+ years of retail, apparel, or customer service experience 
• Strong leadership, sales, and customer service skills 
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through 
• Proactive, self-starter with an independent work ethic 
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends 
• High School Diploma required (College Degree preferred) 
• Alignment with the Tom Beckbe brand and lifestyle
