Senior Linux Administrator (TS/SCI)

Senior Linux Engineer (TS/SCI Cleared) Location: Langley Air Force Base, VA. Leidos seeks a TS/SCI cleared Senior Linux Engineer to design and implement Infrastructure as Code for various deployments, manage RedHat Linux environments, and ensure high-quality, secure operations on site. Responsibilities Administer, deploy, and maintain server hardware and RedHat Enterprise Linux9 environments. Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation scripts. Implement configuration management with Ansible and integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines. Automate deployments using Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), Terraform, and Packer. Troubleshoot and resolve complex Ansible and RHEL issues. Optimize existing Ansible code and RHEL configurations for performance and efficiency. Manage patch, upgrade, and security hardening for RHEL systems. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members. Monitor and measure system performance, detect trends, and pre-emptively address issues. Collaborate with support teams to handle incident events efficiently. Administer and maintain RedHat Satellite/Capsule management systems. Apply security and application patches, ensuring vulnerability mitigation. Respond to technical escalations from Service Desk, Network Security Operations Center, TierII, and other teams. Document architecture of the current RHEL environment and support the development of an Infrastructure Automation roadmap. Assist with retrospective activities and support operational improvement efforts. Contribute to documentation in Knowledge Base, SOPs, work instructions, and job aids. Cross-train to support related technical tasks. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience. Active and current DoD TS/SCI clearance. 10+ years of Linux administration. Experience with containerization products such as Podman, Docker, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift, or Rancher. Experience with configuration management systems (Puppet, Ansible, or Salt). Hands‑on experience with virtualization technologies. Shell‑scripting experience in at least one language (Bourne, Sed, Awk, Perl, or Python). Understanding of LDAP and SSO technologies. Strong focus on automation and Infrastructure as Code. Commitment to customer service and proactive strategic thinking. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. Preferred Qualifications Deep understanding of QEMU/KVM and RHEL networking. Expertise in administering RedHat Satellite. Expertise in administering and using Ansible Automation Platform / Ansible Tower. Benefits Pay Range: $92,300.00 – $166,850.00.
