MNR-PATIENT ACCESS REPRESENTATIVE

Overview The Patient Access Representative will cover two departments, the Admitting Office and Emergency Room Registration Departments. Responsibilities Registers and greets incoming patients, secure documentation, and establish a viable reimbursement plan. Manage patient flow throughout the Hospital. Enters all new Emergency Room patients into the AllScripts computer system and verify their demographic and insurance information. Ensures insurance information is entered accurately and ensures timely billing and reimbursement for the Hospital. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required. College course work preferred/collections and insurance verification preferred. Clerical experience in Physicians Office or Hospital setting preferred. Understanding of Insurance preferred. Detail oriented skills required. Knowledge of computers (Microsoft Excel program) and data entry experience required. Must successfully pass the Patient Access Exam and vocabulary test with a score of 80% or more/data entry and basic arithmetic/customer service experience required.
