Job Opportunity

We are seeking qualified candidates for a night shift position that requires a 3x12-hour schedule, from 19:00 to 07:30. Candidates must have a compact license and meet specific experience and certification requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves providing high-level nursing care in a mixed telemetry and intermediate care unit. Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

• Float between Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) and Telemetry as needed.
• Administer breathing treatments and manage BiPAP/CPAP as required.
• Conduct procedures such as cardioversion, defibrillation, and obtaining 12-lead EKGs.
• Care for drains, epidural pumps, feeding tubes, and other medical devices.
• Manage medications including amiodarone and antiarrhythmics.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary support teams including physical therapy and respiratory services.

Patient Care and Staffing Details

The unit sees a daily census of approximately 44 patients, with the following staffing ratios:

• IMCU: 1 nurse to 3 patients
• Telemetry: 1 nurse to 4 patients

The patient population includes adults and geriatrics with conditions such as general respiratory failure, cardiac issues, and renal complications.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a comparable role.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Experience with management of telemetry and IMCU patients preferred.
• Strong skills in cardiac drips management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and procedural sedation administration.

Additional Requirements

• Must commit to working a minimum of 3 of the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day.
• Availability to float to nearby facilities as required.
• References from two supervisors within the last three years may be requested.
