Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

JOB SUMMARY Provides direct patient care within the Neuro Med/Surg unit, adhering to established nursing standards and hospital policies. This role focuses on delivering competent and compassionate care to patients requiring neurological and general medical-surgical interventions. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with neurological conditions and general medical-surgical needs. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical, psychological, and social status. Develop and implement individualized patient care plans. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in status. Educate patients and their families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning. Perform hourly safety rounds and bedside shift reports with patients. Collaborate effectively with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and other healthcare professionals. Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols. Schedule / Shift 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Required Qualifications Must possess current RN license in the state of practice. BLS certification required (can be obtained upon hire). NIH Stroke Scale certification required (can be obtained upon hire). Experience Previous experience in a Neuro Med/Surg setting preferred. Skills Proficiency in performing nursing assessments and interventions for neurological and med/surg patients. Ability to administer medications and treatments accurately. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively within a team setting. EMR / Systems Meditech Patient Population Adult patients requiring neurological and general medical-surgical care. Unit / Specialty Neuro Med/Surg (4th floor) Floating / On-Call Required to float to like units as patient care needs dictate. Expected to work every other weekend and Holidays in rotation with hospital employees. Must work 4 weekend shifts every 4-week scheduling period. #J-18808-Ljbffr
