Job Title: Electrode Technician Job Description

The Electrode Technician sets up and operates a variety of precision manufacturing machines to produce metallic and plastic workpieces used in advanced battery assembly. This role reads and interprets blueprints and job orders, plans operational sequences, executes highly accurate coating and assembly processes, and inspects finished parts to ensure they meet strict quality and manufacturing standards. The technician also monitors and maintains production documentation and batch history records to support compliant and traceable operations.

• Set up and operate machines such as lathes, cutters, shears, borers, millers, grinders, presses, drills, slitter machines, and auxiliary equipment to manufacture metallic and plastic workpieces.
• Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and tooling instructions to determine product specifications and plan efficient operational sequences.
• Start machines and adjust hand-wheels or valves to engage feeding, cooling, and lubricating mechanisms in accordance with process requirements.
• Execute precision operating and coating machinery to achieve sub-millimeter accuracy in battery assembly and electrode production.
• Inspect workpieces for defects and measure dimensions using rules, templates, and other measuring instruments to verify accuracy of machine operations.
• Uphold a 99% quality pass rate by performing thorough in-process and final inspections and adhering to strict manufacturing and quality standards.
• Monitor and manage all aspects of document control related to production, including facilitating Batch History Records and maintaining accurate, up-to-date documentation.
• Provide end-of-production run data and ensure all records are complete, accurate, and compliant with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
• Identify small variances in the manufacturing process that may affect product quality and take corrective action to maintain specifications.
• Troubleshoot machine and process issues promptly, using strong problem-solving skills to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
• Follow cleanroom and dry room protocols, including appropriate gowning, respirator use, and contamination control procedures.
• Use basic computer systems to enter production data, update documentation, and access work instructions and specifications.
• Collaborate with production operators, assembly technicians, and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and consistent product quality.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work area by following established safety procedures and equipment operation guidelines.

• 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in roles involving machine setup and operation.
• Proven ability to run production machinery such as lathes, cutters, shears, borers, millers, grinders, presses, drills, and slitter machines.
• Experience working in a production, machine operation, or assembly technician environment.
• Ability to perform precise measurements and detect small variances in processes that may affect product quality.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in a manufacturing setting.
• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) principles.
• Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom or controlled dry room environment.
• Basic computer skills for data entry, documentation, and accessing work instructions.
• Capability to wear a respirator on a full-time basis during equipment operation and setup.

• Experience with CNC operation and machine setup in a production environment.
• Background as a production operator or assembly technician in high-precision manufacturing.
• Comfort working with advanced battery or electrode manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and detailed job orders.
• Strong organizational skills for managing batch history records and production documentation.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills in a medium-sized manufacturing facility.

This role is based at a medium-sized manufacturing site spanning two buildings, with approximately 120 colleagues at the location, fostering a close-knit yet professionally run production environment. Work takes place in a dry room where cooled, low-humidity air is maintained to support advanced battery and electrode manufacturing processes. You must be able to wear a respirator full time during equipment operation and setup, and follow cleanroom-style protocols appropriate to controlled environments. Shifts run 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. for day shift and 6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m. for night shift, with night shift employees typically training on days for 3–4 months. The schedule follows a rotating 2-2-3 pattern, including every other weekend, with about 56 hours one week and 24 hours the following week. The facility emphasizes safety, precision, and cleanliness in all operations.

This is a Permanent position based out of Cockeysville, MD.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
