Associate Underwriter

BITCO Corporation is seeking an Associate Underwriter to join our branch office located in Pasadena/Diamond Bar CA . Position Summary This position provides essential operational and administrative support to the local Underwriting team through a variety of functions, including new and renewal policy setup, account analysis, account coordination, data collection, and follow‑up on outstanding information. The role supports efficient underwriting operations by ensuring accuracy, organization, and timely processing of account‑related activities. Primary Responsibilities Review new business submissions and enter into the policy system; review for fit within underwriting guidelines Performs loss analysis and reviews other important detail and documentation on applications and accounts Prepare issuance instructions according to either a completed proposal or binder order May provide a full range of Underwriting support on smaller, less complex accounts Collaborates with Underwriting team on quotes, renewals, applications, changes, and Underwriting issues Builds and maintains effective relationships with agents, providing prompt service on questions, requests, and/or issues Develops information for special reports and projects, as requested by Underwriting team or management Initiates requests for renewal information and orders Experian or other investigative reports; initiates appropriate risk control service Administers changes to new and renewal policies, utilizing the company's current rating/publishing system and ISO, NCCI, and related on‑line manuals Calculates premiums for endorsements and cancellations of policies Works with internal billing team to resolve any issues related to billing on accounts Coordinates account details and documentation, such as file set‑up, follow up on endorsements, form completion, and proofreading Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications 2+ years of Commercial Insurance experience strongly preferred Intermediate to advanced knowledge of commercial rating Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to read and interpret policy terms and other factual information Ability to multi‑task effectively within assigned deadlines Demonstrated sense of urgency Proven ability to provide prompt and effective customer service Must be able to work effectively in an independent and team environment Salary $70,000.00-95,000.00, Commensurate with experience Benefits Competitive salary paired with a comprehensive benefits package Generous paid time off, plus 12 paid holidays annually Comprehensive health coverage, including medical, dental, and vision plans Additional protection through accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity insurance Company‑paid life insurance equal to 2× annual salary Company‑paid short‑term and long‑term disability coverage 401(k) Savings and Profit‑Sharing Plan through Old Republic Ongoing education, training, and professional development opportunities Support for industry certifications and insurance designations, including financial assistance Flexible scheduling with a two‑hour window for start and end times within a 7.5‑hour workday Opportunities to give back through corporate philanthropy and community service initiatives Optional benefits including travel, commuter, and pet insurance Employee wellness support through a dedicated fitness program #J-18808-Ljbffr
