Maintenance Worker

Major duties include but are not limited to:

• Possesses and maintains a valid driver's license.
• Operates motor vehicles which may include pickup trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks or crew cab pickup trucks.
• Reads, understands, and applies instructions contained in manuals, blueprints, specifications, etc. Interprets and performs work in accordance with the drawings, technical manuals, etc.
• Provides maintenance and minor repairs to office furniture.
• Installs modular furniture, standard curtain rods, patient privacy curtain tracks, traverse rods, etc.
• Utilizes pressure washers and other heavy equipment to strip, scrub, wax, wash walls, vacuum, shampoo rugs, and trash pressure packing.
• Cleans rest rooms, bathrooms, and shower rooms, ensuring that they are cleaned and meet acceptable standards (cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes lavatories, showers, bathtubs, urinals, and toilet bowls; cleans mirrors, sinks, and water fountains; washes and polishes light and toilet fixtures).
• Cleans bedside stands, over bed lights, blood pressure cuffs, bed tables, etc. in patient rooms.
• Provides basic maintenance to equipment i.e., power washers, vacuums, buffers, and burnishers.
• Does inventory for housekeeping and laundry sections of EMS.
• Keeps the facility clean; empties trash and waste baskets, replaces liners.
• Transports general refuse, regulated medical waste, and recycling to central collection areas following established procedures for waste management.
• The position requires operation of a motor vehicle to perform assigned duties.
• Most have a current, valid state-issued Driver's License is required for this position.

Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday 07:30am to 4:00pm

Physical Requirements: Incumbent is required to drive a truck for several hours to reach the remote location of service. Incumbent is required to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time, and to bend, climb and stoop, and work in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. Required to routinely lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds with 4 little/no assistance, required to occasionally lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance. Also performs tasks and other strenuous laborer duties that require climbing ladders and considerable walking. Incumbent moves supplies and materials with a pallet jack and through physical labor. During travel, considerable physical effort may be required to change tires and make limited emergency repairs.
