The position involves individual and group counseling, clinical evaluations, treatment planning, and care coordination. You will work closely with medical and mental health professionals to deliver high-quality, person-centered care, while maintaining regular clinical documentation and participating actively in case conferences and team meetings. Responsibilities Conduct intake assessments and ongoing clinical evaluations Lead individual and group counseling sessions for clients in substance use recovery Develop, monitor, and update individualized treatment plans Maintain compliant, confidential, and timely clinical documentation Coordinate treatment and support services with RNs, NPs, Psych NPs, and other staff Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences Provide crisis intervention and brief counseling as needed Offer education and guidance regarding recovery resources and relapse prevention Foster an inclusive, supportive, and culturally competent care environment Requirements Active NYS CASAC Certification (Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor) Minimum 1 year of experience in at least one of the following settings: Methadone Maintenance Treatment Program (MMTP) clinic Working with a high-risk population Working with individuals in foster care or with mental health needs Strong clinical, assessment, documentation, and communication skills Bilingual Spanish skills a huge plus, but not required Able to work early morning weekday shifts and one Saturday morning per month Commitment to equitable, culturally competent, and multidisciplinary care Schedule & Assignment Details Monday–Friday, 6:15 AM–1:45 PM (or 7:00 AM–2:30 PM; schedule can be discussed) One Saturday per month, 8:00 AM–12:00 PM Ongoing temporary or temp-to-perm opportunities available Onsite position in a Methadone Clinic, New York, NY Apply Today If you are a CASAC-certified counselor with at least one year of experience in MMTP, high-risk, foster care, or mental health settings, and you are looking to make a lasting impact within a dedicated treatment team, we would love to hear from you.
