Fund Administrator, Associate

A well-established Chicago asset manager is adding an operations professional to its in-house fund oversight function. Day-to-day, you'll serve as an internal check on third-party administrators validating their work, catching discrepancies, and ensuring registered funds run cleanly from an accounting and compliance standpoint. You'll work closely with senior leaders and have real input on how the team evolves its processes and technology. Your background 2–4 years working directly with '40 Act registered funds in an accounting or operations capacity Hands‑on familiarity with daily fund valuation, cost accruals, and shareholder activity — subscriptions, redemptions, and distributions Experience preparing or reviewing financial statements for mutual funds or ETFs Accounting degree required; CPA or active CPA candidate strongly preferred Comfortable in Excel — pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliation workflows Experience with AI productivity tools is a nice‑to‑have Day to day Audit administrator‑prepared cost and fee calculations for accuracy and regulatory compliance Monitor fund operating expense levels against prospectus‑defined thresholds Verify dividend and capital gains distribution figures prior to payment Investigate and resolve breaks in fund transaction records Review periodic performance and financial reports before they go out the door Identify workflow gaps and partner with the team on automation and efficiency projects Take on ad hoc analysis and reporting as the business evolves #J-18808-Ljbffr Phaxis
