Position Title: Mechanical Designer
Location: Chattanooga, TN
Duration: 6-Month Contract to Hire
Compensation: $30-$38/Hour - Depending on experience level and qualifications

Job Description:
Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Design Drafter for an industrial manufacturing client. This candidate will play a key role in supporting both new product development and updates to existing equipment. Working heavily in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, the drafter will translate engineering concepts into precise, production-ready drawings that directly impact manufacturing quality and efficiency. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and strong CAD expertise are critical to success.

Day-to-Day:

Create detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Develop 3D models and assemblies for new equipment designs
Modify and update existing product designs based on engineering requirements
Translate technical requirements into build-ready documentation
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design accuracy
Ensure drawings meet quality, safety, and production standards
Support production by maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation

Must-Have Experience & Qualifications:

Associate degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Drafting, Design Technology, or related field
Strong SolidWorks experience
Experience with 3D modeling and assemblies
Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D
Background in industrial or manufacturing environments
High attention to detail with ability to produce accurate, production-ready drawings

Nice to Have Experience & Qualifications:

Experience designing heavy equipment, machinery, or structural components
Exposure to manufacturing processes or production environments
