Openings for Summer Grounds Crew The Helena Public Schools is accepting applications for Summer Grounds Crew positions. Duties include operating a variety of equipment and power tools, performing labor under supervision to contribute to the development and maintenance of Helena Public School grounds; responsible for maintenance of district properties, facilities and equipment; assisting in the maintenance and repair of the district grounds through activities such as planting, mowing, watering, weeding, trash collection, sign installation/replacement, and a variety of related tasks. The positions operate district vehicles, equipment, and a variety of hand and small power tools to support centralized maintenance operations. Responsibilities also include cleaning/maintenance of district facilities and sports field maintenance by fertilizing, weed spraying, grass seeding, dragging and leveling infields, and watering. Prior experience with automated sprinkler systems is desired but not required. Requirements At least sixteen (16) years of age. Up to three (3) months of related experience and/or training. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 1000 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation. Prior to employment, anyone over the age of eighteen (18) years must successfully complete the required background check. Salary is $14.15 per hour.
