Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 9 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary: Registered Nurse ER (Adult) - Position: Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Adult) - Location: Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, NY - Shift: 12-hour shifts (7a-7p/7p-7a), 13-week contract - Scheduling: - Every other weekend and holiday required - Must submit time-off/special requests upon submission - Client may cancel up to 3 shifts per contract - Charting: EPIC experience required - Travelers: First-time travelers accepted - Local Policy: RNs within 75 miles not accepted Licensure & Certifications: - Active New York Single State RN license (no pending licenses, NY is not compact) - Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Clinical Skills Required: - IV therapy (blood administration, central line care, phlebotomy, starting/maintaining IVs) - IV vasopressors - Respiratory support (CPAP/BiPAP, ventilator management) - Neuro/trauma care (stroke, spinal cord injury, TBI) - Cardiac monitoring (dysrhythmia interpretation/management) - Emergency care (adult/pediatric ED, gunshot wounds, orthopedic trauma) - Isolation precautions, triage, pediatric spinal cord injury Unit Details: - Patient Ratios: 1:5 (adults/geriatrics, all emergency diagnoses) - Special Equipment: Bair hugger, rapid infuser, safe patient handling equipment - Floating required within skillset - Scrub Colors: Any navy blue and white combination Hospital Highlights: - State-of-the-art, 24/7 emergency department - Centralized layout, advanced diagnostics - Dedicated pediatric ED and trauma suite - Discreet crisis intervention unit - 528-bed Magnet-recognized, acute care teaching facility - Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center - Affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park - Offers specialized services.
